General

Christos Tzotzos has been involved in mountaineering and climbing from a young age (13 years old) while he attended the first EOOA mountaineering/climbing school for beginners in 1997. At this age he also took his first alpine skiing lessons. His passion is alpine climbing and technical mountaineering, with which he is constantly engaged to this day. He has climbed most of the steep slopes of Greece (Varasova, Kouvelos, Gerontobrachos, Giona, Vardousia, Astraka, Gamila, Olympos, Falakro, Pangaeo) both in summer and winter. He has also climbed rock and ice routes in Bulgaria and the Mont Blanc area. He is a member of EOS Komotini and has been a member of the Board of Directors for 10 years (2011-2021). In the period 2010-2017 he was involved in the training of children on an artificial wall and climbing competitions. He participated in setting new rock and mixed terrain routes as well as in setting new and maintenance of single rope routes.

Education

He attended the EOOA training system (Intermediate level 2005, Assistant instructors 2013, Instructors 2022, Mountain Guides 2024) and now systematically participates as an instructor in mountaineering and climbing schools. Now he is a professional Mountain Guide and works on accompanying individuals and groups in mountain activities.

He has participated in dealing with mountaineering accidents and searching for climbers on Olympus and elsewhere.
