Generally
Fani is the first and only female Greek Mountain Guide and the only active female Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor of the Hellenic Mountaineering-Climbing Federation (HMCF). She has been involved in mountaineering, rock climbing and skiing since 1998 and she has been teaching every year in many mountaineering and climbing schools of the HMCF clubs since 2003.
She is a professor of Physical Education & Sports specializing in Outdoor Activities and Mountain Sports in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) and holds a Master’s Degree in Climbing Coaching (AUTH). She is a competition climbing coach, rock climbing coach and route setter also.
She is an instructor at the Hellenic Public Institute of Vocational Training in the Mountains Leaders speciality and also at the School of Competitive Climbing Coaches of the Greek General Secretariat of Sports as well as at the schools of Aspirant Climbing Instructors of the HMCF.
She is an Avalanche Instructor of the French Federation ANENA and teaches seminars on finding and extricating an avalanche victim.
She has taken part in many mountaineering expeditions in the world’s great mountain ranges in the Himalayas (Buni Zom 6,551m), the Andes (Aconcagua 6,962m), Africa (Kilimanjaro 5,896m), the Caucasus (Elbrus 5,642m), the Alps (Mont Blanc 4,808m) and has climbed snow-ice-rock routes in most Greek mountains as well as on the slopes of the Alps, in the Dolomites, in Arco, in Croatia, in Wales, etc.
She has climbed routes of very high technical difficulty (8a French classification / X-UIAA) while in 2016 she represented Greece at the world climbing meeting of female climbers.
At the same time, she has opened many new climbing routes in the region of Western Macedonia of Greece (Florina, Prespes, Ptolemaida), Crete and Corfu and has organized and equipped entire climbing areas.
She is the founder of the outdoor activities company of the Alpine Rhythm making organized mountaineering and climbing ascents in Greece and abroad all year round.
At the same time, she is a choreographer and trainer of Rhythmics and General Gymnastics. She is a head coach and has many gold medals with her athletes in Rhythmic and General Gymnastics.
