Akis Parousis is a Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor, also a Certified Mountain Guide.
He was born in Katerini – a small town at the foot of Mt. Olympus - in 1975, and made his first steps in the world of mountaineering and climbing at the age of 15. Since then, he has developed an extended and significant action in the fields of mountaineering, rock and ice climbing and ski mountaineering in Greece and abroad.
His action in Greece, is numbered in hundreds of ascents of modern and traditional climbing routes on Mt.Olympus, Varasova, Meteora, Mt Giona, Mt. Vardousia, Pindos Mt. Range, etc. as well the establishment of new routes both on rock and winter ice fields. Abroad, he has developed a significant activity on the European mountains, by having climbed a multitude of classical and outstanding ice/snow and rock routes, in the areas of Mont Blanc, Dolomites, Grand Paradiso, Aosta valley, and other areas.
As a ski mountaineer, he has an extended action, counting numerous ski tours and ski mountaineering high level ascents and descents in Greek and European mountains.
Akis, teaches mountaineering, rock climbing and ski mountaineering in various Climbing & Mountaineering Associations and Alpine Clubs. Also he spends a lot of winter time, as a ski instructor at the local ski academy of his region, and as a passionate Mountain Guide, he runs guiding courses with his guests, both in summer and winter period.
He is married to Marisa Antonakopoulou and they have a daughter and two sons together.
