He is experienced in mountaineering, climbing, alpine ski and mountaineering ski in Greece and abroad.
He has climbed many new multi-pitch routes (first ascents) in numerous Greek mountains, with several co-climbers and has also skied on countless beautiful Greek off-piste mountain slopes. In addition to H.F.M.C. and H.M.G.A. mountaineering education, he has spent a lot of time abroad since 2003, attending courses in alpine ski technique (Scuola di Sci, Alta Val di Fiemme).
In co-operation with Aris Theodoropoulos he has written the academic book "Mountaineering, Detailed Technical Manual" and also contributed to the writing of the books "The Art of Mountaineering, Volumes A, B" written by C. Belogiannis and G. Voutiropoulos.
Dimitris is the National Delegate in the Safety Commission of U.I.A.A. since 2000.
In addition to his academic profession, Dimitris also works as a Mountain Guide.
He speaks English and German.
